1. These weren't the sort of plugs we are familiar with but more like short lengths of extremely stick rubber 'bootlaces'. They didn't work because the hole was pretty big, not big enough to poke a pencil in but big enough. Two Gummy Worms did not effect a decent seal even though my American friends raved about their effectiveness.
2. I discharged the gas from the first cylinder as I didn't think clearly ie attach elbow to tyre valve first, then attach cylinder to elbow. Also I should have had far more gas cylinders or carried an aersol of Tyreweld with me. The latter proved superb and in spite of the cautious instructions, I rode around the Isle of Man for a few days until the tyre depot could get a new tyre in. One tyre on my van has had Tyreweld in for a couple of months and it's still full inflated. A small amount of rust on the inside of the wheel rim means the tyre cannot make an effective seal.
