12v to 5v convertor

Hi all i am looking to convert 12 volts down to 5 volts to charge a portable radio, i am sure i have seen a post on here which talks about this but i can't find it again.Just wondered if anyone either could point me in the direction of the post or knows a product to do this with.

If you're handy with a soldering iron....
USB is 5volts (the 2 outer pins). There are loads of cigarette lighter - to usb type convertors around. One of them would do the trick.
