Hi - looking at options for "inner bags" for my new 1300GSA - i have the original BMW aluminium panniers for it.

on my 1200 i had the original BMW ones and they served me well for best part of a decade. I'm tempted with just coughing up the (rather painful) amount BMW want for them again (£112 each although i have seen some sellers doing the pair for £190)
Before i do though....

Has anyone bought the "copies" of the BMW bag from AliExpress? what are they like? has anyone actually had chance to compare them to the originals?

I actually bought the Ali "copy" of the top-box bag for a short, solo trip to Scotland in May - when it arrived it was quite good quality, but it didn't actually fill the pannier at all. I was wide and tall enough, but on the depth, or thickness, (front to back of pannier) it was only about 2/3rds to 3/4rs of the size in that dimension - i didn't use it in the end.

so has anyone used the Ali ones? - any sellers to look for or avoid? (or are they all the same thing but sometimes at different prices?)

Thanks for any guidance you can offer.

I’ve bought this ones from this exact store.

I just found this on AliExpress: | For BMW R1300GS Adventure R 1300 GSA GS1300 R1250GS R1200GS ADV Motorcycle Aluminium Case Liner Bag Luggage Box Inner Bags 2024

The quality is great and they fit well inside the original panniers. For £29.95 the pair couldn’t be happier and you can also strap them to the top/outside of the panniers if you wish. The ones I got have the exact same logos/writing as the original despite they were deleted on the store pictures.

I have the Aliexpress ones. They do fill the box. My problem is with the boxes. They have huge plastic lips around the top. Presumably for strengthening. This makes it difficult to get the inner bags out. Especially if something solid is catching (like trainers). I will look to test out some bumot inner bags I have. They are a more canvas like material, a bit stiffer and slipper to get out. They also have shorter handles, so you're pulling from lower down.

I think much of the Aliexpress knockoffs come out of the back door of the same factory as BMW stuff, possibly as seconds.

I also have the Ali express ones but the higher quality ones. Fit perfectly into the panniers

Just ordered a pair for the side panniers…had to pay £46 though 😥. Still a great price though if they are as good as I hope and about £175 cheaper than BMW main dealers.

Sorry - more...

as a price half-way house - i quite like these too:

Wunderlich Inner Bags

I don't suppose there is any experience of these on this forum is there?
I have these and find them perfect, they work well seem sturdy.. Ive got a spare set that I may part with brand new?

Always consider the smell some of the cheaper products have. Toxic plastic smell that never goes away

I bought them on a promotion event during winter 😁.

The ‘old’ 1200 inners should fit quite well in the 1300 ali panniers.
Mind did.
The old ones sit nicely and securely on top of the lids, too, if you need the increased space inwards after duty-free 😉

you have the wunderlich ones? - i'm curious about these - the description says they are slightly padded - i'm hoping its not too much padding eating into payload space? - they aren't like a padded camera bag are they?

how do you tell which ones are the "higher quality" ones? - i see lots of sellers and a range of prices (from about £50 to just over £80 for the pair) - but i can't help thinking they are all the exact same things!!

sold them with the bike sadly :-(

Look on the Bay.
They often come up from time to time.
There’s one dude currently selling one bag only, but doesn’t look like there’s any of the associated straps.

No not at all, they are quite thin. I will try and take some pics later..

I've got a set from Great Bikers Gear for mine. They don't fit quite as well as the previous ones I had for 1200 Varios, but they certainly do the job and are reasonably priced compared to OEM.

Ah I see what you mean - is it just a thin layer to give them some structure when they are empty?
