I am looking to do a Cotswold Ride out on GS friendly trails around the south Cotwolds on Sunday 14th June - starting at 9.30am

Anyone who wants to come along should send me a PM we are limiting it to 5 bikes only. All the trails have been ridden on a GS 1200 Adventure - the first trails will be a gentle introduction.

Should be finished around lunch time ish.

If you need any further info PM me.

Am I up to it?:D

Hope your well - good to hear from you.

We should get together soon:thumb2

Is this the same Burt who took me around the quarries a couple years ago when I was a n00b on my 650 Dakar??

Would love to come out o the 14th but I'll be overseas :( Hope to make it next time :thumb2

PS: Like your site and the video :thumb2

Here's one from my rides in the local area, you'll probably recognise the track:

Hi, just it is the same Burt - we are running the ride out monthly thro the summer months so your welcome on the next one - the dates are on the site.

We are also running a 3 day event running through Wales from Chepstow to Snowdon - you need to bring your own tent ;-)

If you want to out for a spin anytime give me a PM.

Looks like you have come on a bit since the quarry ;-)

Don't worry - we'll keep it straight forward - I would advise off road tyres though and no panniers.

It's a very sedate pace and we can modify the route if we think there will be problems on some sections - there will be two of us guiding so optons are available.

See you soon

I still count myself who has a lot to learn... but I was particularly green when you took me out - your patience was appreciated!

The 3 day event sounds like a laugh - I will def drop you a line to go out for a spin/lesson :thumb

There are a few of us going out on Sunday 14th for a GS orientated trail ride. ANyone else who wants to join us is welcome. Off road is straight forward - although if it has been raining / wet off road tyres would be useful - if you want to do the trials on road tyres we can cut a few lane options.

The whole trail ride is approx 100 miles and we can extend it onto some of the trails used by Mav a couple of weekends ago.

PM if you are interested in joining us.

Theres a slight chance i might be able to do this.... although it will be on the tt600, thats if i get the clutch sorted on saturday... will let you know, please post if there's no space left.

Santrix,
Thanks for getting in touch. I do have 5 bikes for the ride out on Sunday but one guy needs to confirm - so I'll keep you posted.

We are doing a similar ride out in a month - so that might give you a bit of time to get the clutch sorted.

As soon as I know anyone is not turning up - you are next on the list.

We are now full - we have the 5 bikes confirmed for Sundays ride out.

There is another ride out planned on the 26th July. PM me if anyone is interested.

Think most the the water is out of my engine now... lol

really nice meeting you guys! really tough day today for me, but i still learned loads. the tiredness got to me today.

Burtieboy, that was an exhaustingly fantastic day out. I'll try and interrogate the tracklog, to see where you took us, another evening.

Shaun, you did utter brilliantly after 5 weeks of riding and if you p.m. me with details ,(or for that matter anyone else) I'll burn you a DVD of your bike washing, cos the files are too big for youtube.

We were all confused as to why a 650GS Dakar, should spit LOADS of water out of the right side exhaust and no exhaust whatsoever out orf the left hand side. Answers on a postcard.
Paul :D

Guys, It was a great day out and everyone did fantastically.

You were a great bunch of guys to do a ride out with and I look forward to doing it again.

I have shot a fair bit of video - so I'll post this when I have edited down.

Burt

Burtie instructed us about TRF rules and politeness, especially when opening someones electric gate:

Did you hear my hugger rattling, I cant stop it other than taking it off.
Warned about mud on the left, but I had dark sunglasses on:

Always walk a ford first, were the instructions:

Then go for it

Wee Ewan has only been riding a bike for five weeks, so top marks for achievement!
:D

Great video - feel sorry for Wee Ewan.

He is a Superstar now.

Hehe, yeah the fall gave me a wee scare alright lol, the guys in work are laughing their heads off at that video.

Their saying i got some balls to try stuff like that, the other lads who made it through done really bloody well though, cos even for experinced riders that was challenging, very uneven surface.

The downhill stuff is the most scarey though, its horrific lol, and rutts oh my god.

bring it on! ;) :green gri

Well done Wee Ewan. That made my day. You've probably experienced more in five weeks than most do in a year. Brilliant. :clap

Top camera man too. Really clear pics and voice over.

I did say the optimum speed for crossing a ford/river is 45mph - I just didn't think anyone was going to take the comment seriously ;-)
