hi guys,

My wife Kate and I just completed a 16 day tour round the Highland in Scotland.
It was Kate's first trip as she passed her test last year.

Good report and pictures Lars, it was good to meet up for the ride out last week and lunch at the Castle Stalker. Is the rear suspension any better ?

I slackened off the rear preload a bit more and it made a bit more difference, but the bike is still very bumpy!
great fun though!
maybe i just by an adventure bike and keep the "S" for Sunday runs.

Scotland is a small place as I kept bumping into Lars and Kate seemily around every other corner......!:D

Great ride report and i'm thinking the view would be even better on a Uly........!:hide

Really enjoyed your photos. Brought to mind some very happy memories for us.We have covered most of the areas that you did.
We usually go the first week in June and it has NEVER rained on us, and thats the last 5 years! But I digress, great report and photos, thanks again

are you the guys who were on the R1150GS with the stubby exhaust and the Airhead GS and a 12er GS - if i remember right?

i want to go back up...
tomorrow i will go out on a run down here on my S but it wont be the same - me thinks!

nope - 1200GSA and 2 red F650 twins

Just read you report and looked at the pictures. I too have ridden some of those routes so it brought back good memories.

Excellent stuff and top set of piccies.

Good work on a sports tourer too - those narrow single track roads need real confidence I reckon.

yeah, Kate's F650 was much better suited to the small single lanes than my "hard" S...but it wasn't a big problem at all...
