165/155/240/24 - The magic numbers for the new GS !

Think about it climate change as periods of extreme cold and heat are totally normal and have always happened on this planet and not only in the last 100 years when people drove cars...C02 has nothing to do with climate change but is just another hoax so politicians and banksters can make billion$$$ on additional taxes to save the world...What a sad joke.Same with the scamdemic that has killed our economies but made a few big corporations even richer and poisoned people dumb enough to take the vaccination poison that weakens their own immune system to get killed when they release the real virus to kill off most of the population...Our politicians, media, banking system is worse than the Mafia and people who believe in their lies are definitely not smarter than the average german shepherd ;)
The electric future is over before it started...Costly/dirty electricity, worst pollution to produce and later dump the toxic batteries, weight of batteries/vehicles,short range and long recharging times...Plus our grid would collapse if really every car would be electric. In California our grid already collapses and we have no power on hot days with a few idiots driving Teslas around San Francisco...:D
And it is easy for british politicians to say after 2030 everything has to be electric because the british automotive industry is already dead and except for MCLaren that sells a few toys to the 1% is 100% foreign owned...By 2030 noone will talk about electric vehicles anymore except for wheelchairs and Golfcards...:D
The funny thing for all these idiots who believe that carbon has anything to do with our climate is that electric vehicles have already produced as much carbon in production as any diesel or gas powered vehicle after 100 000 kilometres of use...:beerjug: ZERO Emission...You have to love these idiots falling and paying for these lies spewed by a few shysters who want to make billion$$$ of it...But now after the scamdemic the governments and people don't have the money for all this nonsense anymore to build all these charging stations, electric grit or buy these heavy and overpriced electric vehicles that will have ZERO value 8 years from now when the batteries are dead :thumb
Throw away junk like I-phones that can be produced with very few people very cheap and sold very expensive for lots of profit...

Jumping Jesus Christ. I now actually feel less intelligent after having made an attempt to read this. Sheesh (TM)

Fuck me there is some flat earther level bullshit being posted here.

Scamdemic - look at India with nets on rivers to catch dead bodies. Sure it’s just normal levels of death - FFS

Is electric clean - no. Is it better in the longer term? probably yes. (Unless something more compelling comes along) Are the usual corporations exploiting things to make coin - yes but those fuckers have been doing it forever with EVERYTHING.

Look at insulin, it is a good thing that helps people but it is exploited in the US where you are charged $$$ for a months supply that costs fuck all elsewhere.

I don’t think there will be a big rush of electric bikes. It’s not what we, the market, want. How many posts do we have on this forum alone discussing the virtues of the sound of one particular exhaust over another.

PS here is the video some poster were talking about where it looks at pollution of electric Vs petrol cars over their life span.

I apologise for the rant.

This is how a thread can go completely off-topic because this is about what we like to see on the all new GS / boxer generation most likely out in 2023 to celebrate 100 years of BMW Boxer motorcycles / 1923 - 2023 :beerjug:
As for electric or the sustainable/electric/carbon-tax/global warming hysteria build up by the media/politician/bankster mafia that run the western world and also make billion$$$ and steal our last freedoms and have destroyed millions of lifes/businesses with a scamdemic that has half of the deathrate of pneumonia we need to ignore their lies and start to THINK again and don't fall like lemmings into a hysteria.
C02 has NOTHING to do with climate change as climate change has been always around and has been a totally normal ocurrance on this planet for millions of years long beforte people heated their houses with oil or drove cars ! It does not matter how much additional C02 we create we casnt change the climate because the oceans will take or give up stored C02 no matter what we do anyways and around 1850 there was more C02 in the atmosphere than today...Maybe the green idiots and so called experts who tell us we have to go electric and make fuel unaffordable for gegural people and give billion$$$ of carbon-tax to banksters can explain this...
Electric has no future. We don't have the grid.No clean electricity. The batteries are toxic and pollute the environment during production and later create toxic junk. The batteries are too heavy, need long charging times and have short ranges.
But the car industry could lay off 80% of their workers and make even more profit they think. In reality china will produce the electric junk even cheaper and 100% will be laid off thanks to a few idiots in politics, media and banking who promote a green/sustainable future like 250 years ago when people spend all day on the field hoping to grow enough potatoes...If they were really green in the EU they would send the migrants home and plant some trees on the free spaces because trees would reduce C02...:thumb
Oh well people don't have the money to buy the electric junk anyways see the Harley Live-Wire...:D 30 grand for a .p.o.s motorcycle that has 100 miles range if everything goes right and then needs 12 hours to fill the tank again...What a joke !
Back to the 2023 R1300GS :thumby:

A electric GS ?

- 100 kilos heavier (batteries)
- 100 miles range
- 10 hours for a full re-charge
- no sound
- how will you do a trip to Tierra del Fuego or wherever your trip of a lifetime will lead you ?

A electric GS will never come :thumb2

A R1300GS with 165hp/155NM/240 kilos and 24 liters in the tank for a 200 mile range and 5 min re-charge hopefully in october 2022 for the 2023 model year :thumby:

Why do you want the next GS to be electric ? Like I pointed out what advantages would a GS/E have ? Believe me I'm all about faster/lighter/more fun to ride bikes because I get bored easy...;) But I don't see any advantage a electric GS would have except for lower maintenance !
-Maybe I forgot to add hydraulic lifters to the new R1300GS list...:D
-Front wheel traction control where you can see the limit of traction of your TFT dash...! That would be awesome, too.
-Shift assist pro that works as smooth and effortless as on the S1000 models.
-Integrated navigation on the TFT screen.
And a Akrapovic straight through exhaust like on the Honda CBR1000RR-R that has a second quieter circuit for situations where you want it quiet to keep the peace with the neighbors :thumb
But that is about it what I can think of to make the GS better...

Conventional forks and 21” front wheel as “sports suspension” option, or “offroad package” or whatever they call it.

Magic nos, what? Like Abra Kadabra. What are these magic nos suppose to do?

For me its the other direction, 175kg 120hp 120torque, but still a boxer motor.

The big GS isn’t an off road bike and it isn’t a sportsbike either , it’s a a big touring bike with a rugged look and a bit more ground clearance than an RT.

For the next GS I would like to see a new ultra compact V6 engine , 150hp , 150nm torque and 17/19 wheels but conventionally suspended with Ohlins non ESA suspension. 240kg wet. Cruise control , DSG gearbox, keyless is fine so long as the filler cap is too. Heated grips and heated levers as standard. Electric screen adjustment and Engine bars with LED driving lamps as standard equipment.

As long as they make a GS that would cause more bitching and complaining on here about all the faults they have. Wheels, power, torque etc is irrelevant.

GB...Let's be realistic...175 Kilos would make the bike un-affordable because the higher cost of light material$$$...
But I can see - 20 kilos by using cast instead of the trellis and some components made of C.F. that BMW can produce cheaper because of the use in their cars as also + 20 hp which would be fine and realistic if even the new Hardley-Ableson has really 152 hp...As also a XR version with 17" wheels and lower handlebar and a new R1300S as icing on the cake :thumby: Maybe a Schorsch Meier special with a electric turbo to celebate the victories of BMW motorcycles on the TT with either supercharged boxer or Dunlop/Hickman on the S1000RR...That would be exiting and worthy of celebrating 100 years of BMW Boxer motorcycles in 2023 !

But would it tho, if you didn’t have the 1300cc motor and all the electronic stuff like suspension servos etc that you don’t need, ok 175kg may be a tall order but it could easily be under 200kg instead of heading the 250kg direction. I personally have no interest in the HP race set be the likes of Ducati but 80hp for me is not enough for loaded two up riding, my 2015 GS has just the right amount of power for me just wish it was 60kg lighter.

GB the current GS is 260 kilos with a full tank and bags the ADV 280 kilos with 10 liters more in the tank to get down to 200 kilos would be downright impossible unless you want to ride a Motocross bike with a aircooled boxer engine...;)
Think about it even the MS V4 or 1290 KTM are pretty much the same weight as the GS and the KTM 5% lighter and don't offer shaftdrive and Telelever which is a little bit heavier than chain/sprockets or fork for obvious reasons...If you forgo ESA and don't have the electric motors you might save 2 kgs...If you go with the air/oilcooled 1170 twin instead of the watercooled 1254 I think if I remember right the weight savings were around 5 Kgs...Maybe get another 5 Kgs going to a cast instead of trellis frame on the next gen GS and 4 kilos going to CF wheels 20 Kgs weight saving would be a HUGE accomplishment especially with 20hp/nm MORE which would do wonders to Performance of the GS :thumb2
Look even the wheezy Africa Twin with chaindrive and a paltry 100 hp is around 250 kilos...The R100GS with 24 liter tank and 60 hp from 30 years ago was 220 kilos wet...So 240 Kilos and 160 hp would be awesome looking at the hp per weight ratio and probably the most realistic scenario because otherwise the bike would be to expensive (cost of light materials) or you would end up riding a boring turd like a Yamaha T7...:D

Or look a the R9T Urban/GS...220 kilos and 30 hp less than a 1250 without bags,centerstand,Telelever...You can't ride it 2-up and have useless suspension...What is it good for ? It is lower and 40 Kgs lighter and looks nice but if BMW was serious at least they could put factory hardbags, centerstand and decent suspension on it for people who would put a lighter/lower bike over performance...just a thought ! Looking pretty is not enough...for me at least;)
