Can you get them? And if so where from? I'm wondering about getting my front wheel re-spoked down to a 17". Anyone done this before? Also, where would I get the shorter stainless spokes? Just an idea at the mo.

Your bigger issue is getting a rim with the right hole pattern for the GS hub. It may be easier just trying to find a 17 wheel of another 1150 engined bmw but it'll be a mag rather than spoked. You could go to talon and have a wheel made but it won't have the same spoke layout as the GS so you'll have to run an inner tube.

How about a front wheel from an R1100r anniversary model or classic model that uses a spoked wheel. Not sure they're 17", think they may be 18", but they should match the style
Or a 1200C model, but they'll probably be chromed.
