17 years ago today....

Tuesday before easter, 2005 mine got delivered to my work place.
Second hand to me but mint - never dropped, no scratches etc etc.....

Silver in color - but didn't really mind,

AWESOME.
like a magic carpet on long Aussie out back roads

Have an 1100GS 75th anniversary in the garage and love riding it ( only 5 gears is great ) . However every time I jump on the 1200LC it seems like a Ferrari , but its nice to have both :aidan
it's certainly not a sprinter. Once you get your head round that and enjoy it for what it is ....all good on the road. As for running costs versus a dealer serviced depreciating LC :D:D:D

Last century 1150gs, still used every day, owned for 18 years, though have an LC to help out!

No nostalgia here is there..I havent owned one anywhere near that long...but I do remember being up in hawes once with my ZZR600 not long after I'd passed my test and seeing a blue and white 1150 come rumbling through with such road presence, I thought there and then "what is that" I must have one. For many years they were always just out of financial reach (paying cash)...till I got one a few years ago...now have the GSA as well.....which at some point will be repainted from black and yellow to some incarnation of blue...for obvious reasons....they are a quirky brute...kinda a bit like having a good friend in a way (as much as lump of metal and plastic can every be like friend)...it always feels to me more like I'm the one that gets us into trouble and some how the GS always gets me back out it...strange that affinity you develop with a lump of mechanical and electrical engineering.

sweet 16

Sixteen years ago today I picked up my new 1150, and she's still here, albeit a little older but she has aged well....we've been all over Europe up and down a few rough tracks and I can't see me changing her for a younger model........Cheers:beerjug:John B

For me, a good 1150 moment :)

Had this since 1997, the KTM is my latest bike, I'd lent the old girl to a mate of mine for a highlands trip.
