-17c in Powys; is it true?

No colder than about -4c anywhere I've been, but it's struggled to get more than 1 or 2 above freezing during the day.

:)

Heard on the news Wales had -17c in the night. Cold here all day, warmest we saw was -2c according to the car but no snow :(

Not quite -17C last night but got down to -6C and showed on this:

I think I heard it right on the Beeb weather earlier that Watford got down to -10?

-18 was the lowest last night according to the local BBC Wales weather.

Anyone for camping :D

According to the sensor on my car at 9.15am this morning it was -11 in Gilwern, 4 miles west of Abergavenny.

Liv around Dec/Jan 1972 I was on board a ship on which I sailed around the Nordcap en-route to Kirkenes to load Iron Ore and we recorded a temperature of -30 had a really nice New Years Eve ashore amongst a load of drunken vikings.

Was camping this weekend in Cheshire with a load of kids; -9 last night which was cold enough for me in a single skin tent. Didn't raise above -2 all day. Most of the gas appliances couldn't be bothered to work. On the plus side we didn't need the fridge:D
Note to self : don't drink too much in the evening as it was too cold to relieve oneself in middle of night!

...and you still remember the party? Wow!
Schould I be glad there is no pictures..? :eek

And I can imagine it must have been wery cold as it feel much colder at sea and on the coast then in the rest of the country: I rode my sidecar in below -25c (not sure exact how cold it was) from Oslo to Lom, and I remember how that felt... :eek
(The route Oslo-Lom: http://maps.google.no/maps?f=d&sour...,10.217285&sspn=2.335973,7.064209&ie=UTF8&z=7 )

Defrosting the car this morning the temperature display said -11C ...

That means that in two days I've seen a difference in temperature of 39C

Climate chambers at work should be anywhere between -40C and +50C..

I once walked out of a -30 chamber into another one at +50C at 85% humidity.. that was a shock to the system

What are damatic screens?

That is in my back yard quite sheltered
