17t front sprocket

Hi guys, sorry to trouble you all, wondering if any of you have upped ratio on a F800GS to a 17 T front sprocket?

Any advantages/disadvantages??

Any info much appreciated

. I've done it to mine, no technical issues.Better mpg. Lower revs at motorway speed but not so good off road

Me too. No technical issues though you will have to shave a few mm off the nylon swingarm guide rail to make space for it. Better MPG. Only down side is that stuck in traffic round town not so good - as you might expect more clutch work. But then again, if i wanted that i'd buy a moped!

Nice one guys! My new commute to work involves quite a lot of motorway/dual carriage way riding now. the vibes @80mph are somewhat annoying so if I could get revs down hopefully this would help...
On the plus side if mpg goes up all the better, it will be cheaper than a moped to run now haha

MPG gain insignificant really, not noticed having to use the clutch any more than usual. Negotiated the Stella Alpina OK on the 17 tooth

Biggest and most noticeable gain is in easier motorway cruising without the vibes. Not that I use motorways very much

No ... speedo taken off the rear wheel sensor

No problem fitting, didn't need to trim anything.

On another note the 17t front has made little difference in performance but has made it feel less buzzy at motorway speeds

Only noticed a 500rpm drop max difference

No, it is taken from the ABS ring on wheel. Rear wheel.
