Sold 1971 Lotus Elan Plus 2 130 Big Valve Twin Cam

My late fathers Elan Plus 2, matching numbers car which had over 13k spent on it back in 1990 including new SpyderSport chassis, suspension, and driveshafts all fitted by them. Full engine build to Q420 spec by QED including tuftrided crank and full blueprint. Pretty much everything was rebuilt/replaced including a bare shell repaint, new wheels, stainless steel exhaust, etc.
My father owned this for 35 years and has kept all bills documenting work, he used it sparingly only completing 3k miles in all those years.
The car is running and driving but is being sold as a project, the paintwork looks amazing 4 foot away but has micro blistering and there will bound to be other jobs that crop up, the brakes are free but will need looking at before being used on the road.
It’s registered as a Historic so no tax or MOT required
Priced at £12950.00
Car is located 12 miles from Sheffield City Centre in the Peak District.

My dad had one. I never saw it running. When he became ill in 97 we ended up selling it for £2000 as a non-runner.

Id love to own one.

Ford Cortina block. Weber carbs. Lotus cams. In a lightweight fibreglass body.

Disc brakes too I believe.

Famous for crappy wiring looms.

Bit too rich for me. But what a lovely car.

Beautiful car.
Built a few of those twin cam engines. Did a big valve once, bloody thing gave me nightmares.
