I was thinking the same thing .., is the clutch diaphragm spring fitted the correct way round .,

@Tarmapper Did you renew the clutch cable by any chance ??

If the friction plate was back to front as Steptoe suggested,that would give the symptoms op had.

now go pull it apart and put the new plate in ,
you know how to do it , you've had lots of recent practice.
