Hi all.
Not sure if this is in the right place so mods please move it if deemed incorrect.

Anyway, browsing Copart the vehicle salvage company.
Saw the attached bike for sale with no bids that finishes in a day and a half. So that’s a big fat £ zero
Must be worth a punt from one of the few restoration type tossers on the forum!
The engine exhausts and panniers etc look salvageable to my untrained eye.

Got to be worth a punt for someone.
Hate to see it crushed if no one bids on it!
Regards
DB

Unfortunately it says 'Cat B' that means it can be sold for parts only, it can't be put back on the road.

Yes I know that’s why I said the engine, exhausts, panniers look salvageable. Wheels look ok too.
Perhaps I should have titled it a spare parts bike.
Apologies if I confused anyone.

£100 registration to bid, I think you also pay a delivery or collection fee.
Hopefully someone bids on it.
I'm tentatively in the market for a project like this but need to do more research.

Did anybody on the forum bid / win in?
Be nice to know if someone got a bargain !

A few cars and bikes cat b end up back on the road in the Republic of Ireland. Known problem. JJH

I know it used to happen that expensive cars that were written off here were exported to Ireland then re-imported back to the UK which removed any accident history. (y)

A merrygoround that wipes the slate clean. Some people claim that most used imports have a history to hide. JJH

I didn't buy it but now know someone who has an account.
What did it go for?

I don’t know!
Not sure if copart has a historical search facility.
Be nice if someone on here got it for cheap and can resurrect it or at least utilise most of what’s salvageable.

An individual can’t buy a CAT B vehicle

I had saw this and was interested but you need to be registered dismantler and the frame has to be disposed of at an authorised treatment facility (ATF)
