Hi all,

I've decided to sell my ST1100 Pan European. It has covered 31k miles. I've owned it for three years - one of those was spent extensively restoring/recommissioning it after it was laid up for 15 years. It turns out it's a rather special one too - likely the oldest surviving one in the UK (it was literally the third off the production line!).

Full details and pics (to save uploading 24 pictures!) are here:

The work undertaken includes:
    • Fuel tank replaced (the actual under‑seat tank) and resprayed.
    • Carburetors fully stripped, cleaned, rebuilt and balanced.
    • Cam belt replaced.
    • Head bearings replaced.
    • Front forks replaced with excellent-condition OEM units; lowers refinished and rebuilt with new seals.
    • Clutch slave cylinder rebuilt (Tourmax kit).
    • Front brake and clutch master cylinders refurbished and rebuilt (Tourmax kits).
    • Micron downpipes and stainless collector fitted.
    • Full service: oil, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, NGK plugs.
    • Rear diff stripped, resprayed and rebuilt
    • Rear swingarm removed, sandblasted, inspected, powder‑coated; confirmed structurally sound.
    • Excellent OEM rear shock absorber sourced from Italy.
    • Stainless steel fairing fasteners fitted where possible.
    • Front & rear brake calipers resprayed and rebuilt with new seals and stainless pistons.
    • New brake pads front and rear.
    • Rear brake disc replaced.
    • HEL braided front brake hoses installed.
    • Bridgestone T30/31 tyres, nearly new (approx. 1500 miles).
    • Side stand, A‑frame and various black parts powder‑coated.
    • Bar-end weights resprayed.
    • Seat replaced with a good OEM unit.
    • Pannier locks replaced (both silver-chrome and rare black-chrome), retaining original barrels so the ignition key still operates them.
    • Givi/Kappa top‑box mounting kit sourced, refinished and fitted (top box not included).

It’s still a 36‑year‑old bike, so some cosmetic imperfections remain:
    • There's a fine scratch on the front mudguard and another on the right mirror pod.
    • It has known early‑model paint issues - the paint has peeled at the front edge of the tank cover and taken a 'granulated' texture on left infill panel. Tank covers and panels are both available on eBay - I chose to live with the 'patina'.
    • Crack in left fairing bumper (new OEM replacement included). Right one has a small scuff underneath, but isn't visible.
    • Crack in black panel above headlight (two spares included).
    • Right pannier has a crack; left has a small underside scuff.
Included in the sale are:
    • Brand‑new OEM left fairing bumper (still in the Honda bag).
    • Two good‑condition black panels (for above the headlight.
    • I'll also include a huge amount of spare parts i've accumulate whilst undertaking the rebuild if you want them
      😉

I have an immaculate spare swing arm and a Tony Archer seat- these aren't included, but the buyer can have first refusal!

It is MOT'd until June 27 - no advisories, she's ready to roll!

I'm looking for £2300 ono which, given the low mileage, time spent restoring it and the actual work it has had done, I feel is fair!

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions!

Cheers

Mike

Lovely and well done for having an early one even earlier than mine... I took my advertised one for a run yesterday and it's still a fantastic bike... Mine runs really well but is totally average cosmetically so well done for the refurb and yes, I've been "all through" a previous one.
I'm v close to keeping mine and the beauty of Honda is you could leave it for a month or six and wheel it out and ride the length of the country "nae bother"...👍

They’re awesome bikes - hugely underrated. I thoroughly enjoyed the rebuild and would love to keep it, unfortunately since getting the GS I just don’t have enough room!

Lovely bikes, I adored mine.

(And the maroon ones are faster:) )

Have a bump and GLWS
