I recently purchased an R1100GS and just took it on a long 4500 mile ride around the western United States. While having my tires changed the mechanic noticed the wave washers were gone on my from rotors causing the rotors to be loose.

anyway when I got home I added the wave washers back on but it got me thinking why would someone remove all if them in the first place....

I do notice a bit more noise but nonperformance issues yet.

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions as to why someone would remove them?

They've worn/fretted away. It's quite common.

Nice if you can get good quality bolts in titanium from the hardware shop ( if such a thing still exists) for 20p. I was just suggesting the material, I don't give a flying one where you get them from . Use it on my Aprilia, looks great, nicer (and likely stronger) than stainless.
