1996 starter problem 1100 gs

2 week ago my starter jammed with a bump it started then 2 weeks later it jammed again took a while to free it but started with a bump again is it the starter on its way out or the battery when i came home it just clicked and then it started of the button my mate says it happens to his now and again

Try removing the starter motor and cleaning the shaft the gear runs on.WD40 and then a dry rag may do the trick.Otherwise it could be the magnets inside falling off.Do a search to find fixes.
