1997 GS 1100 fuel pump question

On my 1997 GS 1100 it seems the fuel pump is continuously working [running] Is this ok or have i a problem.
I would appreciate any thoughts on this matter.

Um, how do you mean? When you turn on the ignition the pump whirrs for a second or so as it pressurises the system which you can easily hear as the engine is not running, but will be constantly working when the motor is running as it is a fuel injected motor, just less obviously as the engine in running. Are you saying it's got louder? This happens and you may need a new pump, or at least a new filter.

Although it could carry on the pressurising cycle noisily if there is a split in the internal hoses. Why can't you edit quick replies?
