I am reluctantly offering my two bikes for sale. Arthritis dictates I can no longer ride them and it’s been a difficult decision to make, but it is what it is as they say. Here is a 1999 R1150Gs in silver. When I bought it, it was described as ‘mechanically sound, cosmetically challenged’ which I found to be fairly accurate. Although not a bad looker, it could use some TLC in the spit and polish department. But it does ride well.
I put this into my Dads garage on a charger about 18 months ago and it hasn’t moved since, but yesterday it started at the first attempt after only about 3 turns of the engine. It has Wilbers suspension units front and rear, the back being remotely adjustable. Serviced a couple of years ago at Reactive Suspension near York before a trip to Austria. 46k miles, and the absolute best screen I’ve ever ridden behind. (Aero Screens). Continental tyres with just the Austria trip on them (bike was trailered to Austria, it didn’t do the motorway miles so no squaring off).
I bought a full set of Tesco bodywork, Tank, rear mudguard and front with beak with the intention of tidying it up, but I never got round to it. They will be available to the new owner by separate negotiation.
Bike is located at Leeming Bar in North Yorkshire, and I will put an MOT on it.
Price is £1500 and no offers please at this price it’s a lot of bike for the money.
