Met this bunch of rag-tag hooligans at Alton today..
The infamous Water Lane step - This is getting tougher each time I visit - The Beavers put together a makeshift ramp so we could have a chance of getting up.
The step caught a few unlucky ones out.
The best bit was watching Darren (Horse) manhandle the beast up the step - Full beans, the whole bike was airborne with the front wheel a long way up. (missed the action pic and only got the aftermath!))
I think everyone will agree that Horse should win the 'Best Rider of the Day' award -

(on the first lane too!)
We blitzed around so many trails, I have no idea where we ended up. Great leading Dave. Some really nice ones which I am going to have to have another go at.
Fag Break.
After a stop-off for lunch, half the group had decided to head home, but the foolish few stayed to head up onto Butser Hill (Didn't realise it was so high - there's still snow up there!)
Pinky (Dave) was obviously quite tired, he kept wanting to have a lie down - Counted about 15 times

We did a fair few lanes after Butser - However, the river bed lane had a few interesting steps to contend with (thanks for the push Brian) - Brian decided that he would follow Darren's approach and gas it, with spectacular results!
Real good crack today. A great laugh. I peeled off about 3.30pm to head for home as the only lanes left were the ones I was most familiar with. However, got within 5 miles from home and found I too had a brand new nail in my tyre. Some b*gger must have scattered them around the trails as both Phil and I got punctures. Rang the wife to bring the trailer and eventually got home around 5pm.
Enjoyed the day, good group, right speed. Brilliant. Looking forward to the next one.
