Broom Tavern Tuesday 6th January 2009

First meet of 2009 at the Broom. Time to sit down and have a leisurely look back at the festive season and perhaps bring along our favourite presents.

Muttley, you don`t need to bring along your new set of HD tassles. We`ll take it as read that Heather bought you some nice ones as well as an industrial sized tub of chrome polish :thumb

The 17 tonne weight limit at Broom bridge maybe under threat after all the mince pies but see you all there from 7 pm

Well, you all missed a great night apart from the die hards Abrasion, Mad Moose, leel600 and me who ventured out in -10 degrees.

We were royally entertained by the Shakespeare Mummers, who seem to be a strolling band of players, to a stirring performance of a 14 century comedy play! I have to admit it went right over my head. 10 grown blokes dressed in all sorts of strange costume with faces blacked wandering into a pub to put on a medieval play was one of the most surreal evenings of the last few years. What the small group of Canadian tourists in the corner made of it, god only knows!

It could only happen on this sceptred isle and the West Midland Tossers evening once again provides great entertainment.

Actually, I thought we`d been visited by the Welsh section:augie

Pics of this may well be along shortly:D

That was an entertaining evening. Well, until the Mummers arrived :eek

Can we take the posting of any video's under advisement, please.

I seem to recall that they only perform once a year. I think that's quite enough!
