So, where and when?

Three of our local pubs have shut in the last month - so for no other reason than civic duty it is vital we meet regularly in a local public house!

How about Wed 25th Jan?

Date sounds good - we could go somewhere more southerly than before? The Lord Lyon at Stockcross (5 mins south of M4 J13) is great - any thoughts?

Would prefer Thursday 26th if possible although not crucial.

Im happy to go with the majority vote - but I'm working in Dublin on the 26th, back Fri so I wont be able to make it. Plus I wont see you all at the TRF this month due to flight times again.....having to work for a living is miserable:tears

Good for both at the mo, is Weds a poss for you Steve. Pretty flexible on where too.

Okay, 25th is fine with me, can't have JM unable to attend.

I'm happy to return to the Chequers unless there's somewhere else in the area that's suitable? The Red Lion in Brightwell is okay for small groups only IMO.

The Greyhound on the A420 near Wootton/Dry Sandford is good, plenty of space and ample parking. Bit further for some though?

Greyhound would suit me better - bit hard to justify the best part of an hour's drive for a pub supper!

Would be great to meet a few local folk....

Crown and Horns at East Ilsley? Getting far for the Reading folk though. I'm more than happy with the King Billy ;-)

Surprisingly close to Chez Berin but not as good as it used to be.

I vote for the Chequers or the Greyhound.

That was our original meet point, was good but changed hands and went downhill.

Just spotted that its Burns night on the 25th. The George & Dragon is doing a Burns supper - not sure if you get vegetarian haggis though.....

Think I'll pass on that, they'll probably substitute the Haggis for that other Scottish "delicacy", the Deep Fried Mars Bar.....

I like the Chequers, the veggie menu is a bit limited but it's easy to reach for most of us.

So, in an effort to stop all the faffing about:

Chequers, Berrick Salome, Wed 25th

Good for me, I'm in....

Anyone riding Sunday?

Just booked a table for us at The Chequers in Berrick Salome on (especially for Patrick)

Wednesday 25th January 2012 for 19.30 hrs.

They serve a 3-course 'Burns Night' special for £18.00 that day but we can also dine á la carte.

See you there! :fnikefork
