just a note for anyone pondering the above forum question/ sold me GSXR 1000 four months ago after 3 years,hav'nt missed it, buy the GS(12!) unless you spend all ya time above 130mph! great bike,

Done just over 1000mls on the new bike, average speed, just under 40mph
I've only been overtaken once in the last three weeks (a Ducati who's respect for life was alot less than mine 
) No motorways though, and alot of villages/small towns, I thought I would average 45-50mph, Fat chance of that on this commute 
Makes you wonder what the national average speed is for non motorway traffic, i bet its around 30mph
I may reset everything and see how the next 1000mls go, now its closer to being run in

I've had mine a year last Sunday and must say I have had more fun more of the time than my 143 bhp Fazer 1000 or my Fazer 600
