2 weeks of ownership and I already love this bike more than any other.

I totally with all this, I love my 2023 GSA Trophy. Was waiting for the 1300 but then decided, not for me, no regrets at all. best bike I've ridden in my almost 50 years of riding.

It seems that some of the early adopters on here are moving their 1300 on after only a few months.

Same here.

Fell in love with the GS on the test ride.
4 years later i still smile even when riding to work!

Always had sports bikes before but always wanted a bike to carry gear and camp with, I thought all these bikes was slow with no power or acceleration.
1 test ride was all it took to change my mind.

Likewise I have a 1300 loaner today whilst my GSA is having its big service. Sure it’s a fine enough machine, but it’s not for me. Gimme back my big old bus.

Oh and the Chinese muddie extenders and hand extenders are just fine too..
I’m no brand snob, Chinese stuff I got from Aliexpress is fine by me. In fact the Touratech anti-theft TFT frame is an insult for the money, even the sticker was fitted on the piss and the QA bloke with the deburring file needs the sack.

I've been lucky enough to have had all sorts of bikes over the years, from sportsbike to Harley, and from 600 naked to sports tourers and adventure bikes, but the R1250GSA is the best bike I've had. I'm seriously impressed. Granted I've been riding a Harley Road King for the last 4.5 years but I'm surprised how quick and agile it it, it's so easy to flick about an it completely belies its size.

Comfort is great (I've got the comfort seat), and I forgot how good the riding position is on the GSA, such a comanding view of the road. The Akra exhaust is already starting to bed in and it's starting to sound great, lovely tone and I'm even considering not removing the baffles now as it's just about loud enough and I think with the baffles out it might have too much drone a cruising speed.

I really can't put into words how much I've been enjoying this bike, I don't even mind the metallic 'rattle' from the engine under acceleration at low revs (I hope this is normal :help). It's a number of years since I had the R1200GSA but this like a big leap forwards.I can't wait for the 600 mile service so I can use the full rev range and hear the bark from the Akra :thumb2

Wait till you try and get the key out of the seat lock :)

Taking me a while to fully click with my GSA, absolutely loved my 21 GS.
To be fair I’ve had it since mid December and only managed to do 1500 miles on it for medical reasons. I’ve got a long weekend to Wales , two up coming soon which will be the real test. 🤞🏻

I am with you the 1250 GS Adventure being the best street bike period 👍If it had another 30 hp/1500 rpm on top and would not wobble like a goats 🐐 dick above 120 mph with bags 💼 it would be perfect 😍 Looking at the all new 1300Adventure which is for sure better than the regular 1300GS with decent sized tank instead of the lawn mover jug and top loading aluminum bags instead of the junk they hang on the regular one…I still think the old 1250 ADV looks and sounds better and has a foot brake that only applies the rear brake 👍The new one would need another 7 mm stroke/1400cc to overcome its looks but looks more manly as the 1300GS but still not as good as the 1250 Adventure…🤣

I was the same, give it time to build up a relationship with it.

I’m now two years into ownership with two European trips plus a lap of Wales done.

Had a few issues and doubts but all sorted now and I’m sold on it at last.

The 1300GSA has to be one of the ugliest bikes I've seen, looks like the love child of a Triumph Explorer and Harley Pan America.

The only thing I've found with the R1250GSA that I'd like to change is to add a 7th gear, or a longer 6th gear. 4000rpm at 70mph isn't great for long motorway/dual carriageway journeys.

First thing this morning I thought why are these germans speaking bad english instead of making the presentation in german ? And what a ugly POS…But within 5 hours I start to warm up to the looks and say when it gets another 7 mm stroke as in a full 1400 cc to give more power and TORQUE to pull the additional heft and taller than 1250GS gears ⚙️ I have to get one…🤣 Kind of a Mad Max design just take the femme and anodyne 1300 and put a naked aluminum tank on it to make it look right and give it another 100 mile tank range…genius 👍🍻🤣 Even uglier than the POS Hardley Ableson Pan Whatever but so much better and ultimately better looking as in ugly done ✔️ right ❗

That’s what I’m hoping Pukmeister, planning a 3k trip to Tuscany in September, that should sort it one way or another. What I do know is I’m very glad I didn’t hold out for the 1300 GS/GSA

I thought it was just me..
That`s what i found after having a Hexhead - the 1250 is lower geared and as someone who is very `engine speed aware` found the 1250 to be a bit busy at higher road speeds.
Hence my 1250 now has an RT 2.75 final drive which reduces engine speeds by ~6% which gives it a much more `rangy`, long-legged and relaxed feel.
Well worth doing for me.

Dont do it unless you want to turn your 1250 into a bike that feels as slow as the 1300 due to taller gearing…I prefer a more spunky engine and quicker roll-on…👍But to each their own ! Holding off for the 1400GS hopefully then worthy of the upgrade drspite beaten by the ugly stick because the aluminum piece in front of the aluminum tank looks like a toaster to me and screws up the looks what otherwise would be the almost perfect Mad Max machine…🤣

I might look into that once the warranty’s expired (y)

So long as the engine power and the clutch can cope with the slightly taller gearing when pulling away then why not. If you only ride on tarmac and don’t need a super low first gear it makes sense.

It would be nice if you could swap 6th gear for a longer gear rather than change the final drive so you still have the same acceleration in the rest of the gears.

I'd rather have more rapid acceleration. How would I change the gearing to achieve that?

Get a shorter reardrive but the GS has already the shortest available so you have to wait for the 1400GS Adventure…By then BMW has hopefully figured out how to make the front of the tank less UGLY…🤣
