Well - 19,660 actually - since April 2004.

I've just had an 18000 mile service by NOG and a fresh set of Tourances and I have to say that she goes like the wind and is better than ever. This bike is possibly the best bike on the road - I haven't ridden more than a couple of the others - but I simply cannot imagine more fun/performance/reliability.

Mine is used every day for commuting and is always covered in road filth and occasionally mud and gravel when I take a detour home via a couple of local tracks.

I've a new one on order from NOG but wonder why I'm bothering - this one is now run in perfectly and looks set for many 10's of 1000's of miles of road munching.

I've had glitches and some corrosion issues all sorted by BMW. Can't imagine changing model.

There you go - a happy customer.... :thumb

Careful mate, BMW will have you stuffed & mounted to show everyone what a happy customer looks like... :D

Don't say you will buy a new one or you will get crucified by forum users !!!

Good for you Mel nice to hear something good said about the 12GS for a change.
Had mine since April 2005 14600mls and apart from one crossed thread bolt on rear rack NOT one problem and for me its better than the 1100GS 17000mls in 18 months and 1150GS 33000mls in 26 months. Having said that no problems with 1100GS and one Gear Box on 1150GS think they just need to be used.

done 127 miles on mine and it works like a dream
Better than the last one, then.

Nice one Marcus :thumb

Good to here the “Postives”

I too think it’s a great machine, guess you are like me, “The glass is half full not half empty” etc

Cheers,

The question needs to be asked. Why are you buying a new one when the one you have is new?

he's had (the) one reliable one, but now wants to live dangerously?

or

maybe it's been a right pig, but want's to talk it up before putting it in For Sale & Wanted :D

At the mo the only bike I'll change mine for is another one too. :clap :clap :clap

you can swap wiv me - just go into Prestige and leave yours and you can take mine... :thumb Oh and swap that feckin' weirdo sticker round...!

Reliability

It does seem to me that the bikes that give the least trouble are those that are used regularly and chalk up the miles. It is the same with most bits of machinery from lawn mowers to jet engines - service intervals depend on time passing (particularly damp winter time) as much as miles covered.

nice to see people riding these machines as they are meant to be riden:)
had mine 11months and got 26000miles on it so far and i'm STILL loving every single minute,
just checked the weather for my morning start to work and it looks like another -4 cold start, this bike has to be good to keep me wanting to ride it in these cold morning..lol..
and yes it is YELLOW.:)

I've got 15,000 miles in one year. About 2,000 of that in the rain.

Another happy customer here. Bought bike (yellow) new in April 2004. Now done 31,800km, or almost 20,000 miles. Only very minor problems, such as the squealing front brakes. Runs very well. Not used for commuting, only weekend rides. Have no plans to sell it or replace it with anything else.

Replacing my 'new' 1200!!!

Ok - someone asked - why replace a bike I am so happy with? S'good question. Truth is.......

A bit over 33k miles on my first 12gs/coming up on 6k miles on the '06 12gs. Both trouble free and wonderful. :thumb The new one was painted alpine white...odd that the new gsa is using my color. :D
