Then the walk home, past two blokes on the Highway, unblocking a drain

Past the vent for the London Overground line, running underground from Wapping to Shadwell

Into Wapping Woods

Turn right at the signpost

Follow the canal, which used to connect the dock to the Thames

Past Tobacco Dock on the right and with the Shard (across the Thames) all lit up for Christmas

Past the latest phase of the new luxury appartment tower block development, going up on site of the former Wapping print works

Dock Street, has changed a lot over the years and is continuing apace now, as the redevelopment around Aldgate East all spreads south, down Leman Street.

Only two locks on your front door ! That there London can't be as bad as they say

It was a very long time ago, used to have a beer in a bar round the corner where all the young archaeologists from the Royal Mint dig used to go.

A different side to London.
What is the ship that you went past, please?

Tobacco Dock has a pair of replica pirate ships, The Sea Lark and The Three Sisters.
Not sure if anything goes on at Tobacco Dock these days, was a bit run down last time I was there

Tobacco Dock, was indeed a white elephant for a number of years.

It is now very busy, hosting various events at weekends.

Back to Wappings wonderous wanderings....excellent

Thank you.

I have to keep exercising my Achilles tendon and walking * is as good a way as any other. I enjoyed my walks during Covid, so will be doing some more and (hopefully) posting them up here.

* or on my Brompton.
