Help needed plz, my 2000 1150 gs has an elec fault the head lamp went out a couple of weeks ago in the yard at work as i was leaving for home in the pissin down rain again. i stopped the bike turned it back on and it was ok ?? today the same thing again but now it wont start.. feck.. All other lights work. The clock lights work but the instruments dont ie fuel gauge gear indicator etc the nuetral light is on the battery light is on but the fuel pump isnt kicking in, ive swapped the relays around replaced all fuses 1-7, can anyone help ???

The by now infamous broken wires in the short loom that runs to the ignition switch? Would seem to fit with assorted intermittent faults. Somebody with first-hand experience will no doubt be along soon...

Sounds like a side stand switch more than the broken wire thing

Especially when the rain is mentioned???

The broken green wire in the short loom ftom the ignition usually kills everything

As the others say - it might be the ignition switch wires. Turn the key on and wiggle the wire set that come out the bottom, not only just under the switch, just wiggle what you can see and see if the pump etc kicks in. If the worst comes to the worst you can just pull the wires out the switch and hotwire it quite easily.

Hi Guys thankx for your replies. I've found the fault its the white and yellow striped wire for the head light thats rubbed under the tank ..feck.. trouble is its back tracked upto the right switch cluster and most of the wires in the loom from the bars to the plug on the frame are now one big wire thats why it won't start coz the kill switch wires are melted to the earth,, double feck.. Im now in need of a right hand switch cluster with light control heated grips etc but non ABS i cant seem to find one at the usual places,, does any one know if the ABS one will do the job coz think its just the extra 2 wires that not used into the plug ???
