Can anyone tell me if the petrol tank from a 2000 1150gs will go straight onto a 1998 1100gs?

There is another problem other than the actual Fittin.
The Plastics at the Front dont match up.
So unless you get a complete front end .

fraid not there Civil..
mine was a 1100 metal tank onto an early 1100 that had a plastic tank... they don't fit straight

look at this 1150 tank on an early 1100 that had plastic
much the same as the metal 1100 tank i tried to fit

I've just looked up the part numbers for a 1998 1100gs tank and a 2000 1150gs tank and guess what? They're the same !!

On the later GSs they are a straight swap. My 1100 has an adventure tank fitted. It went straight on. The side pods are different on the plastic tanked versions. Garys Kalahari yellow bodywork was from my standard 1100. All you have to do is swap silver pods

It's only a problem when you try to fit the steel tanks to the earlier plastic tanked bikes. The Mandarin 1150 tank photo, on the 1100 above, was mine.
If you have a steel tank on your 1100 then the 1150 tank will fit straight on.
If you have a steel tank on your 1100 then the 1150 tank will fit straight on.

I've just bought a '98 1100 which already has a steel 1150 tank fitted. You'd be welcome to pictures etc.
