Been riding a couple of years (bandit 650) - I am a big rider (6'2" and 17 st) always liked GS's rode a 12 and fell in love - but expensive

Now considering a W reg (2000) 1150GS with c 25000 miles - looks in good condition
I am nervous about in being nearly 10 years old - what should I look out for or check has been done as part of its history before I consider any further?
- what is likely to be coming up in terms of maintenance?
Should I be worried?
Should I spend a bit more and go for a 1200 or a new / nearly new 800??

Questions questions!!

Thanks in advance for your help

How much do you have to spend and whats it for ie going to work, weekend run-outs, or going round the world?

Fancy some longer days or weekends away - may even take it abroad next summer - also will commute c 30 miles a day.
Price £4400

Seems over priced to me as i got an 03 from a main dealer for a few hundred quid more with less miles .......

Have a look in the for sale section mate and you will probably find a better bike for less or the same money :thumb

Jeez! Unless it's a minter it sounds VERY over priced!

I paid a hell of a lot less than that for my 2k w-reg with admittedly 35k on it!

That said, it was the best decision I ever made :thumb2 But it's unlike any jap you've ever owned. It has so much more character and 'presence'.

One of the guys on here likened it to a retarded child: You love it to bits but constantly have to look after it.

My analogy would be to a naughty puppy: Eager to please, but sometimes shits on yer carpet :blast

See if you can knock the price down and go for it, you won't regret it :D

If you subscribe (only 12 quid and money well spent IMHO) you'll have access to the 'For Sale' section where you're very likely to find a very good bike :)
