Just home from a 2001 mile roundtrip to the GOTC meet in Ullapool,taking 711 pics along the way and having the best trip ever.

Ready for the off on 2 June :

Overnight ferry and then blat up to Northampton to pick up chasr of this parish.

Then oop north via back roads all the way.

Quick stop for tea at Betty's in Harrogate :

Overnight at the Grey Gull Inn near Lockgilphead

and then a blat via back roads all the way to Swaledale and a stop at the Tan Hill Inn,the highest pub in Britain

and that's it really.


Back roads down to Portsmouth and boat home.


As I said at the start,2001 miles with only about 50 of that on motorway.


The bike was fabulous,with 50mpg and 280 miles on a tank and still plenty in reserve.



Needs a new back tyre and the sidestand bent but will be sorted under warranty.

Who needs a GS ?



Though a new GS SE would be nice.

Great report there from a great weekend. I plan on heading over there again myself later this year and making it to a few of the Islands. There is just something special when you go off on a tour on your todd for a few days and intersperesed with a great wekend in Ullapool its hard to top.
