This is my third 1150GS over a 20+ year span and without a doubt the best. However a shoulder injury that I’m told will take at least a year to fix in addition to my list of pre-existing bodily wear and tear means I can no longer cope with a big, heavy bike or long rides. A day trip to Norfolk on Friday aimed at proving the medical profession (and wife!) wrong resulted in me being barely able to move for two days and that’s not fun. I struggled to move it around today to take photos. While I’ve been tempted to keep the bike tucked up in the garage until I recover, realistically if I am able to do longer trips in future it’ll be on a smaller, lighter bike.

I’m the third owner with both previous owners being forum members – BTBR from new and then mpjbiker from 2004. I bought the bike in October 2023 after it had barely been used for a few years as MoT history will show (1,000 miles in 6 years). I gave it a comprehensive service, new Tourances, a servo-ectomy with Venhill braided lines all round and various other bits and pieces in November 2023 at 38,076 miles. It had another minor service in January this year at 40,397 miles. Now on 40,733 miles. MoT until the end of June but I’ll get a fresh one done for the new owner.
  • WP shocks front and rear, lowered 1”, rebuilt by MCT in March 2024, original shocks included
  • Remus Y-piece with standard can, cat included along with a stubby
  • John Gemi stage 14 chip, standard chip included
  • Tils 1200 injector conversion
  • K&N filter
  • Both stick coils replaced
  • LED headlight and tail light bulbs
  • USB sockets in beak, ignition switched
  • DIN socket on beak
  • MRA Vario screen
  • Modified ‘1200 style’ beak – may not be to everyone’s taste but can be covered by a GSA beak extender
  • Touring panniers – standard pair plus a full sized left one should you decide to run the stubby, all three keyed to the bike
  • Shad (I think) top box
  • Factory heated grips
  • RAM mount above RID
Some bubbling in the usual place (front of engine - see photo) and some staining on the gearbox from a fuel leak a long time ago - I never found a way to remove that. Rides beautifully and would take you anywhere in the world tomorrow. Massive lever-arch file of history going back to new.

Registered with TfL as ULEZ exempt.

Asking £3,500. Bike is in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire.

Going on eBay this evening. If that doesn't generate any interest I'll put the original shocks back on and re-advertise for less.

I'm open to swap/part exchange for something smaller, lighter and more modern.
