Hi guys, it's been a while. Long story short, we lived in Fuerteventura. Wife got cancer came back to uk. Got all clear.

Now back in Fuerteventura for a couple of weeks to inspect property and the wife agreed that we should go for a spin.

New battery sorted. Started bike after 2 attempts. The fuel started pissing out. Like lots and lots. The fuel pump is the culprit.

The bit where the fuel hose plugs in is snapped.

What do I need to order or is there any way of bypassing the fuel pump altogether.

Many thanks for any guidance. Note: I have not had the all too common failures that have been quite fashionable over the years. First fuel pump issue ever!

That could be a recall part

Any BM dealers on Fuerta Ventura? Call them with the last 7 digits of the frame number

And No you can;t by pass it as you need the fuel pressure to get the engine to run

You could possibly fit a new quick release coupler "if" you can get the threaded part out of the flange?

There used to be a listing for them on REAL OEM

Here's Motorworks offerings Other suppliers are possibly available Its either the Chrome plated Brass on the left of page or the white one on the right

Thanks so much. I will go back to the bike to have a good look and maybe take the entire fuel pump off. I will have to assume its the female part as the male connect hose bit with the rubber o ring still looks good. The female part has come away from its housing. Would I have to buy some special petrol proof paste to stick the new female one into place.?

No BMW motorrad dealer on the island unfortunately

Your female quick connect receiver has snapped off at the flange face

See the threaded part in the pic

That screws in and I believe it is an NPT fitting so don't overtighten it:rob

My old 1200GSA did this, the threads had split apart on the plastic male self-sealing CPC fitting due to vibration/flexing. Luckily the whole coupling turned out of the female hole in one piece rather than shearing off. Motorworks provided me with a new plastic one as BMW don't list it as a spare part. If I was buying again I would try to get a metal one. Its a ten minute fix once you have the part with a few turns of PTFE thread tape to seal it for good measure (its petrol compatible).

That silver disc below the fitting that snapped off IS the improved type, shocking it hasn't lasted.
