My heated grip on the RHS has failed. Normal culprit would have been the element, however i have continuity across the element as i tested this afternoon. So the next likely culprit is potentially inside the RHS switch gear, or could there be a wire/connector loose somewhere in the loom around the headstock? The Clutch side works perfectly.

My grips are also a bit worn, where can i get some of those grip puppy thingies, anything you all recommend?

Grip Puppies from Adventure Bike Shop 01787 372901. Bendy had a thread re heated grips if memory serves. But then our Bendy has a thread on pretty much everything.😃

Sorry about that.
3mm soft sorbothane sheet wrapped around bar. Cover with snooker cue handle heat shrink sleeve.
Or as @Wilde says.

SteveM, that looks like a great fix without compromising too much diameter. Tell me, are they still tacky with the heat on, or has that diminished?

The tackiness has diminished a little I think, but that could be to do with the type of grip I bought off ebay. The nice thing is that like you say the diameter is not increased too much and the thinness allows the heat through quickly. They started off feeling very tacky but I think that was just newness as once they got a little grubby it lessened quite a bit. The great thing is that trying this approach is non expensive and non invasive, if you don't like it just cut or pull them off.

Well, i stripped the right hand side grip off completely. I couldn't find a fault anywhere in the wiring loom or switch, so i assumed that there may be a weakness or small break in the wire under the grip which would allow partial continuity, but too much resistance or whatever to operate the heated grip.

There was a fracture in the wire, when i removed the grip (which was a total pig) the far end of the wire went ping, and came apart. So i fluxed and soldered the break, tested it with the engine running and it got hot... carefully replaced the grip with some compressed air and tested it again, working.

In all, about an hour to repair, now i just have to get some grip covers sorted. Quite an easy fix really...except removing the grip, which has left me with sore fingertips.

Just fitted the Grip Puppies...not so sure about those at all. They are seriously thick. I will give them a ride or two, but i have ordered some cricket bat grip just in case. Has anyone tried the Heat Shrink squash racket grip enlargers? Thought they might be worth a punt.
