Trying to fit a 2005 RT with a sat nav the mounting bracket sits above the clocks has any of you good people have any idea how to thread the cable down to the headstock plug

Cheers

Did mine by simply taking the route over the top of the clocks pm me and I can send image, don't seem to be able to post it

I have a tomtom mount above the clocks. The power cable is quite thin, there is a recess around the outside of the instrument panel which I fitted the cable into. It doesn't come out, has been there for 6 years without any problem.

Take off left hand mirror, remove 2 screws behind it by edge of speaker grill and ease forward the instrument surround.
Thread cable behind.
I created a very small semi circular hole with a rat tail file so cable didn't get pinched.
Pick up power from headstock socket and reassemble.....simples.

This worked for me, and only took a few mins to get done. Had two RTs pre Wethead, and same for both.

+1 for this method. You can also thread the wire through the hole where the screen support arms come through.

I found there was just enough clearance under the bracket to allow the cable to be routed between the bracket and dash leaving only a couple of inches of cable showing.
A couple of carefully placed cable ties under the panel to keep it from being pinched when the screen goes down to it's lowest setting is all it needs.
Will take some pics if you want them.

There ya go...

The pivot point for the screen mechanism doesn't contact the wire at all, the only bit that touches the wire is the black plastic on the underside of the screen. You can just make out the slight pinch marks, ( two white marks ), halfway between the fastener and the screen lifter arm.
