2006 GS ADVENTURE Tech question...

Hello,
does anyone know whether the subject model has the lower first gear?

I know the 1150 Adv had this option and also the actual 1200 GS ADV could be ordered with a shorter 1st gear.

I am almost considering to buy (used) this model/year and since there is still some money involved ( ), I would like to know what I should particularly check and whether there were some bugs on first series production.

AFAIK the 1200 ADV wasn't available with a low first gear till the 2008 model run.

The 06 models suffer the same issues as other 1200's, some, like me and many others i've met, are lucky and have few, if any problems, others seem to get more than their fair share of issues, i guess its a case of do you feel lucky?

Top bike though, and i'd buy another in an instant without hesitation.

All 12's up to the 2008 have the same gearing (GS/GSA) Identical

On the 2008's there is an option on the Adventure for an "Enduro Package" Where you get TKC 80's and a lower First gear. I have it and TBH, cant tell much difference between this and my 'O6 GSA. ... Still a great bit of kit though.
