2006 GSA Morphed into a 2009 GSA

Paint

great looking bike but would you happen to know or any one else out there what is.the paint code for the black side panels on your fuel tank .

Al :thumb

Hi Al
dont worry about code - dont think many people could tell the difference between shades of black
i took the panels to the guy who painted the 3 bikes in Charlie Boormans Race To Dakar - he has a workshop near me
i just showed him the frame when it had WD40 on it and asked him to spray them the same colour
i had the original olive green ally ones or what ever colour they were - he two packed em and sprayed em - just make sure there is lots of laquer on em cos they get scuffed quite easy off my autocom lead

lights

AMAZING.....:thumb2:thumb2
I am really impressed!!! I really like the tail and the turning lights...
One good upgrade....

Hi GZ
not sure if you have an older GS but
Bahnstormer BMW were doing the rear light cluster for £150 ish fitted i think
and the indicators £120ish
both are really well worth doing - my prev NN rear light started playing up - BMW rear corrosion problem letting water in
As for the indicators -Danny @ Bahnstormers asked me to look at the indicators from a car seat level - god they were peircingly bright so much brighter and clearer than my old ones
then when they are off it looks like u havent got two large oranges stuck on the end of pencils

BUT
the iceing on the cake comes from the front
2 x 50w Hids dipped & main
2 x 35w in the spots
Light into day - saved my bacon many times

Very nice mate, looks like you put a lot of hard work into that.
Did you get the stickers from someone on this site?

Cheers
JJ

2 years ago me and a mate went to Bastogne (edge of the Ardenne Forest -Band of Brothers & Battle of the Bulge etc) Dec 18th to 22nd - when we left here we did 380 miles at -2 to 0
next 4 days it was down to -9 everyday  - we scrapped of the ice and toured all over the place - black ice and frost everywhere - cold but good fun

when we got home you wouldnt beleive how bad the panniers were - covered in ally rust :confused:

i used Belgiom Alum to clean em up :thumb2- when u glance at an aircraft somtimes all the way up in the sky the sun flashes off em - well on a sunny day i dont think anyone is gonna say i didnt see him and rear ends me - do you LOL :D

Excellent work, mate. Bike looks fab!!

Sad. Very sad. Have you really got nothing better to do than polish a bike to this extent? Dare you to stick some TKC's on it and come off road with me.

Sad ????

the cleaning is only done between riding the 30,500 miles all over UK Ireland France Switzerland Italy Austria Germany Andorra Spain Belgium in just over 2 years

i love road riding (non motorway) especially all over the Alps - i dont actually like riding up mud tracks with knobbly tires on any way i would be crap at it - not sure why i am classed as being sad

will putting on TKC's and riding up a mud track make me more acceptible to you :comfort

I did a google search on Belgiom Alum and got no hits. Can you confirm the name and maybe point forum users to a supplier ?

Nice bike, top marks for cleanliness.:thumb2

http://thepolishingshop.co.uk/acatalog/Belgom.html

Sorry about the crap spelling
its Belgom Alu 500ml
linky above

this is what i have learnt might help
only do one pannier at a time :blagblah
put it on with one cloth keep gently rubbing in circular motions :blagblah
then wipe off with another soft cloth so 98%ish is off :thumb2
then with a proper buffing cloth give it a final wipe ;)
its funny stuff to use - when you get it on your hands it will look familier :D
whatever you do dont let it dry before buffing off

any probs just pm me - have a good weekend

Its just that if you take it off road, it will get dropped, dented, scratched, dinged. Then theres no point polishing it. BTW - Off road riding doesn't just mean mud you know...
