I know!......there will be a thread somewhere but I searched and can't quite find what I'm looking for.....

My dad has a 2006 1200gs with stock rear shock which has sprung a leak today :blast
We are in the north west and would be grateful for recommendations for engineers that could refurbish the OEM unit....preferably ride-in-ride-out.....

Have seen threads referencing MCT (suffolk) who can apparently refurb for about £80 if the unit is removed and posted.....but would prefer a north west based firm for speed and ease.......

Commence much discussion!!

Thanks in advance!

shock

i have a standard rear shock, its in good condition with no leaks if thats any use to you.

Kentgal,

Thanks for the prompt response and offer, will bear this in mind, but with a euro trip planned for June would like the peace-of-mind of a fully rebuilt unit.

I'll come back to you if we start considering second hand(non refurbed) options. Out of interest do you know what mileage the unit has done and what you would want for it?

Thanks for the response and offer!

Thanks to all for offers of assistance!
To Kentgal for offer of spare shock, and to rudiemoto (Jono) for offer to assist and even provide a loan shock from ABW in Manchester......what a great community!!!! Even though I've gone elsewhere I still have the offer of a loan shock if there are delays......what a great crew!

Thanks to all !!!!!!
