Well, I've been gone and done it again!!
Started out as a trip to my local dealer to have a shufty at a half dozen 2nd hand GSA's, all very nice, but after comparing the price on the tickets for a 6 month old with 2,500 miles, against the cost of a new one, it didn't need much thinking about, after an hour of talks and free coffee, I've ended up swapping my 2006 GSA of 5 years for a brand spankin new triple black GSA.
In 36 years of riding bikes of all shapes, sizes, makes & models, this is the first bike that i've owned for 5+ years and swapped for the same but newer model.
In the time I've owned the 2006 (42000)miles, it has only ever let me down on a couple of occasions
1. Final drive 1 swapped under warranty just before I bought it.
2. Flat battery
3. Final drive 2 replaced with 2nd hand unit
4. Final drive 3 bought bearings & seals and rebuilt myself (still running 15,000 later).
Other than that it's been serviced and ridden all year round through all weathers, commuting and touring.
Can't wait to pick her up.

Health and wealth to enjoy your new toy :beerjug:

Nice one, congrats:thumb BMW dealers have a way of doing that:blast:D When's delivery?

Salesman needed a sale, I didn't back down from my ideal trade in price, walked out of the shop, he called me back and the rest is history.
Collect end of month, can't wait, Thank you. :beerjug:

you're definitely a very understanding customer. If id had that sort of failure rate id wouldnt be touching another 1200 ever :eek

So, apart from 3 final drive failures in 42,000 miles it's been reliable? And you bought another one.!!!

Bloody right I have, I see loads of copies out there that have troubles all of their own, and none of them suited me anyway, so I've stuck with what I like.
It's still the only bike I've owned for over 5 years and swapped in for the same.
Time will tell.

Happy new bike and ignore the negatives. Probs in the 1150 section are beginning to outweight ours. :D
