I recently have lost the reading for the front tyre pressure [ comes up '- -' ] and after about 20 mins of riding I loose the rear reading as well.

Has anybody else experienced this and found out what the problem is, or know what could be causing it?

Cheers

Paul

Could it be the battery has gone flat in the front pressure monitor and is almost flat in the rear one? :nenau

I've got one in front of me here that came off my '08 GSA. The unit itself is sealed. No sign of a battery in any shape or form.

Ah! I thought they had replacable batteries
That shoots that idea down in flames :blast

I don't want to frighten you but they cost about £70.00 each and they have to be calibrated to the bike by a dealer:eek:

Let us know the outcome though - it could be important to a lot of people on here if these little feckers are going to start packing up after a few years! Talk about built it obsolescence:blast

Update...

Just been on to BMW and yes the unit will need to be replaced and yes about £70 each.

Hmmm just under 3 years of pressure monitoring and kaput! Great!! £140 and maybe another 3years of monitoring? :censor:

 that is a bit pricey!

But then again I would probably replace them, mine paid for themselves a few weeks back in Scotland when I got an alarm up for the rear tyre loosing pressure. This was just before entering a road that went on for miles with loads of twisties. The tyre was only losing pressure slowly when i spotted it, but without the warning I may well have been going full tilt into a bend when there could have been a sudden loss of pressure and resulting loss of rear traction. As it was I was able to stop and effect a repair once I'd removed the bloody great nail that caused it.

Another load of useless wank from BMW:rolleyes:

£140 a pair:blast .............................for only another £100 more, you could buy a full OE Clutch kit for a Boxer.........................which would be a damn sight more use than those useless feckers
