2007 / 2008 model change on 1200 gsa

hi,

how can I tell if bike I am looking at is an 08 model - I believe these are better in various ways but unsure of exactly what...
Currently have a great 1150 gsadv but fancied an update / lighter option - any experts on here that can explain differences between these ??

You could try the 10th character of the VIN

or decode the last 7 VIN characters on

thanks for that - but is there an obvious appearnce difference / has it a better engine / g.box or any mods that make it a better option to buy ??
