How many have done the Rydale Rally in the past, and how difficult is it?

I'm considering putting in for this years event but want a bit more on it before I do. Don't want to commit if there's little prospect of completing it or finding it too hard going.

KMD???

KMD , your getting far to old for all this off roading, but u do make me lauughhhhh!!!!! BASTARD!!!!!!!
:beerjug:

Dave,

F***k off springs to mind, or alternatively get a pukka off roader and come along with me. Whatever, so long as you're ok for Spain I suppose that will do. I put Ohlins rear shock and front springs & oil in short Dave's VFR, and lowered the stanchions 5 mil. He rang me to say it felt like a diferent bike. Strange that, seeing as we'd been telling him for months if he changed to Ohlins it would feel 'like a different bike'.

Can't tell some people!

Rushy,

Thanks for that. Had seen that thread but wanted some info from anyone who'd rode it before. As SkiDave (aka lanky streak of piss on planks) pointed out, I'm getting on now and ride the off road events in the 'over40' class so really would like to know from anyone whose done it if it's a bit much for us old un's. Two solid days could either be fantastic fun or too much depending on the going.

Dave, get an off-roader and come along!

RYEDALE RALLY RALLYING FOR THE ELDERLY

KMD Dont worry about rideing in the over 40s class ,last year i was secratery of the event and over two thirds of the entry were over 40.We had a very healthy over fifty class and enough for an award in the over sixty class.
The Saturday route will cover four of the noth yorks forests and should cover a distance of 120 to 140 miles the sunday will be a shorter route in Cropton forest to allow folks to get off home.Last year the weather was very wet and made some of the course a bit stickey but hopefully this year the sun will shine. Saturday nights plans are to include a hog roast with the cost included in the entry fee.

I think everybody on that North West thread who's going, me excepted, is over 45 :rob.....so I guess if they can do it you should be OK :nenau:D

Ryedale

Hi FB

Having done the Cambrian and Red Kite recently, I'm completely addicted - but I won't know for a while if I can wangle the weekend of 5/6 July off work

Is it possible to say how quickly the numbers are filling up and if it is likely to be oversubscribed ? I'd hate to leave it too late and miss out

Cheers

Rich
