2008 1200GS and 1200GSA details

Here's a bold statement from the BM press release "More serene – a drive train that won’t let you down."

I quite like the look of the new bikes but so often "in the flesh" is different from pictures that I will wait and see.

IMPO BM`s always look better in the flesh than they do in pic`s

Red & Black GSA looks the dogs in the flesh ;)

Innit bout time yah got yerself a new Un Paul. :D

Entitled to your own opinion. :D I have ordered a 2008 GSA and would have been fine with the 2007 version just as well. The 2007 model was the one that persuaded me to turn to the GS side, but unfortunately it could not be ordered anymore since Oct. I like both.

Personaly I would not go for the ESA option and use the money saved to buy aftermarket shocks such as Wilbers once the standard shocks start to go off which the back one on my 1200GSA was doing after only 10,000 miles. Hate to think what BMW would charge to change a shock on an ESA equiped bike

FWIW WP have quoted £175+parts+VAT for a full ESA service on the RT (I don't need it yet at 23k miles)

12GSA

About time they addressed the crappy sports bike gear ratios on the GSA ...

I wonder if the new transmission and final drive are swappable with proper 1200 GSAs ...

Just to inform you about the final order I placed today, what is possible etc.

The R1200GSA 2008 is available with three packages:

Safety Package:
RDC, ABS and ASC

Options package #1:
Chrome exhaust, heated grips, BC

Options package #2:
Chrome exhaust, heated grips, BC, Enduro ESA, Extra Lights, Luggage holders

The packages are cheaper than everything seperately. The GSA 2008 turned out cheaper for me than expected.

The only thing i'm finding out are the minor details like LED blinkers, the 820mm seat that is supposed to be available. I chose the safety package, plus package # 1 and seperately the headlights and alarm.:D:D:D:D:D

What is the predicted delivery date?

Shep

Tnx ! :D And yes, a very long time since I already handed my 2006 F800ST over one month ago. :blast

But it's worth it and to kill some of the pain I got myself 2 books (Long Way Round and Long Way Down) + the DVD series of LWD to be delivered in Dec.

PAL I think the red is growing on me.[/QUOTE said:
So if I cut a few inches off my front beak, loose 2 stone to compensate for the extra bhp of the 2008 model, get a few stickers for my tank panel. I might hold onto my money. Will have to test drive one though. Not sure of the boomerang part.
