Hi all
Picked up a 2008 R1200GS-A last week, loving it so far. It has the large screen including the extra brace bar where sat navs etc are often mounted. It was quite difficult to adjust (I tried once and stopped unsuccessfully). I've then removed the screen by undoing the bolts where the knurled black knobs are, removing those, and undoing the 2x torx screws on the "sat nav" bar and tilted forward in order to fit a new sat nav. After putting it all back together, the screen still seems equally difficult to adjust.
If I loosen the knurled black knobs either side of the screen (which is tricky), manual says to 'push' or 'pull' the top of the screen. Well it doesn't seem to move. I've put a fair bit of force in and 'wiggled' and there seems no obvious way for it to move. Is it meant to be like this or should it be 'easy'? Any tips? Any videos of people adjusting theirs (couldn't see any on youtube)?
So either a) I've put the screen back together incorrectly or b) it is just difficult and I need to try harder
cheers
