Just dropped off 2008 GSA at NOG for 18k / 2 year service before warranty expires. By the time I'd arrived at work on courtesy bike circa 45 minutes later, several missed calls to tell me:-
1) Front disks are pretty much on the minimum thickness, pads likewise, cost of circa £529 to replace both.
2) Rear axel is buggered, too much play/wear, needs replacing at circa £800 plus
- thankfully under warranty! 
Then there is still the service cost and new tyres to factor in, so not looking forward to the final invoice later today...
Based on the experience of the wider community, is the above scenario "normal"? I don't think I ride it particularly hard or typically brake hard and late, but I guess there is a lot of metal to stop...
