Sorry if this is in the wrong section, have tries a couple of searches so thought I wouls seek advice / recomendations, the good, the bad and the don't waste your money. Don't want too big, too fussy, and waterproof would be nice with a decent map pocket. Many thanks in anticipation. :beerjug:

Tank bags

I had a BMW bag on my GS - it was a bit of a nuisance to remove to fill up etc; When I changed to the 2008 model with a slightly different shape I went for a Bagster; this is just a very neat tank cover with 4 clips for the Bag which is easily detachable - and becomes a rucksack; you will quickly find out if they do the same set do for the GSA.

Bagster with a 'city' bag does it for me. Depends if you're ok with the 'bike bra' bit.

bagster

I am also after a tank cover & bag for a GS1200 '08. I see bagster do it but I cannot get to a buy button on that site... I see NN do it but I hope to find it cheaper. Hints anyone? Cheers - Hugo

Bagster supplies

I have to admit that I did have to wait - about 5-6 weeks for mine - ordered from the local Bagster agent here (Bagster would not supply me direct) who promised it in 'une petite semaine' (they are of course made in France) I will look on the French site and see what dealers if any that they have in UK.( I paid 208 euros for mine last October (which was then about £150 and is now over £180.) The reference no. is BAG 1564U for the cover (113€) and BAG4979 for the bag (95€) ( the U refers to the colour - black in my case.) I am pleased with the bag - it does tend to switch on the heated grips on full lock - which is no problem at the moment!

I looked at the two previous OEM tank bags that are actually made for the R1200GS. They are very nice, but the rear mount requires some modification to fit the R1200GS Adventure. I settled on the OEM tank bag that is designed for the R1200GS Adventure. I like it. It is waterproof and expandable. The map case isn't as nice as the two previous tank bags, but it works.
