Well, contrary to just about everything i have ever said i am cosidering the purchase of a new 1200gs,and have indeed put my 1150gsa se up for sale.
It started with a trip to Rainbow in Rotherham to get a stamp in the service book of my 1150 which had been left out by the previous owner, but the receipt was present so no problems.
Then i got talking to Shaun (very nice guy)one thing led to another and before you know it there are the making of a good deal on the table, his part ex offer for mine, without even seeing the bike,as we had gone in the car,(still can't ride after my op) was almost what i origionally paid for the bike.
Apparently there are very few unregistered 1200's left in the country and indeed you can't order to your own spec.
So my Question is,before i go ahead, does anyone out there know what mods and improvements the 2010 model has over the current model.
Although i got a very good p/ex offer i have put my bike in the f/s section as it would be nice for it to go to a fellow tosser.

The only thing I heard was engine changes to boost low end and mid range power although its probably not going to be by much

Plus if you do get the new one you will have to put up with owners of the previous model taking every opportunity to slag off your bike and you for buying it :augie

If the press are to be believed, the engine is going to be a detuned DOHC version taken from the HP2 Sport giving an estimated 5hp increase on the existing SOHC engine, I can't remember what improvement, if any, this will have on the torque values. The indicator switch gear is reverting to conventional and there is going to be no change cosmetically.

2009 model if the price is right

At the end of the day the 2010 model is going to be worth more money on resale ( 1150 boys will probably disagree ! ) .. There will be improvements .. I would wait and order the 2010 model .. Saying that I have the 2009 gsa and I am extremely happy .. So if there are exceptional deals out there ( they would have to be exceptional ) then I might be tempted to buy the 09 model. Most if not all come with all the goodies these days so if the money is right then go for it ..

I am sure somebody will shoot me down for my opinion but that’s exactly what it is .. a personal opinion.

Cheers
Steve

My (German) dealer says that it will either be the HP2 or a 120 hp S motor that will find its way into the 2010 GS/GSA. More power should be OK as long as it doesn't affect consumption.
