Hi all,
Probably a silly question....
Bought a GS-911, been playing around with it and noticed on one of the tests that there is a heated grip symbol on the LCD display, I remember reading in the bikes handbook that there should be one but it's never come on when using the heated grips - should it?
I guess if so it could be to do with the fact that the GS-911 pulled up an open circuit fault with the heated grips - something to fix before winter I guess :)
Cheers

Right hand one seems to be playing up but no worries I'll trim the grip off and resolder - just more wondering if the LCD dash should show when they are switched on (the handbook says it should and the symbol is there when testing with GS-911 but its never come on for me in the 8 months I've had the bike)

Cheers

I have a feeling its related to the relevant module that holds the data (ZFE)

The kombi is in effect dumb, it only diplays the data an associated module has sent to it, or an action it needs to process / display

I noticed last night when doing my LED mod, that the LCD diplay has all the ferkles in the LCD screen esa etc.

but as i dont have ESA, then there will be no signal from the relevant module system into the can bus..

No signal - no messages

I've never seen a heated grip symbol on the display but my grips have never been hot. I get warm or tepid with the latter completely pointless.

I have not seen the symbol on dash on my bike and it's 2013 model the last air cooled

Cheers all, odd that there is a symbol there that's not used but hey :) will just have a go at repairing the heater at some point then :)

I dont remember seeing any symbol on my dash but the grips are as hot as hell, cant run with them in position 2 for very long.
Same here, I occasionally put them on number 2 but rarely for very long even on the 2-3 degree mornings lately ,they get far too hot for me,
06 gsa,
Looks like yet another bendy related problem.

Even with Grip Buddies, I can only stick the heat on high for a while. On the low setting, they're much more comfortable now.
Maybe you have a high resistance electrical connection somewhere, bendy. Or they're just stuffed.

My GS911 shows heated grip 'open circuit' when the grips are turned on. Try turning them off and see what the 911 says.

Thanks that may be the issue, or could be dodgy connection as comberjohn says (I have grip puppies but on 2 they certainly dont get too hot)
