Hello all,
I thought I'd give y'all a heads-up in case this isn't particularly widespread intel...
Last week a jaywalker crossed paths with my four month old F700GS. I did the usual Wacky Racers London shuffle, tooted angrily....and my bloody horn switch stuck on.
Cue frantic and somewhat embarrassing efforts to get the thing to shut up, followed by some fault-finding and failed attempts at a WD40 fix when I got home.
The bike's now in with my nearest BMW service centre, who've just called to tell me both sets of switchgear are being swapped out in 'a recall of sorts'.
I've been told that BMW Motorrad 'has got a new supplier' for the switchgear and that the replacements will be 'of a higher spec'. I guess that means Mister Fuckup came to visit once too often.
Anyway, do bear this in mind if your F twin's warranty is almost up or you've been having trouble of this sort.
