Well, some people will be saying i told you so.
My 2012 500 EXC-F died yesterday.
Done a trawl through the forums and it appears there is a common trend of clogged fuel injectors, something to do with the inline fuel filter being attacked by the fuel.
Called the dealer and there was plenty of 'I think I know what the problem is' noises.
Bike going in next week to be looked at.
