2013 Farkles, LED spotlights, lighting packages and other bike/4x4/car farklies

Fanum, does the 10% UKGSer discount apply to the prices here (which are the same as on the website) or is there a code that needs to be applied?

I'm thinking of some spots to put on the C90 for the Gambia trip. Dennis mentioned they may be useful when crossing from Mauritania to the Senegal depending on how long it takes to get over the border and on to our night stop. Last time they did it it pitch darkness!

Thanks.

Andy

I'm afraid the prices on the website are as here at the moment Andy......I tried to get the discount code to apply, but I couldn't work out how to make it all tally up with VAT in the back end shop control settings:blast .......a small point, but the accountant really blew his stack when the discount coded price knocked off the % from the VAT as well :tears

In real terms, it's pissant numbers for the Gubbmint, but HMRC doesn't work by the amount, it seems to work by the fact that the numbers are wrong no matter how small.

If you can get a few orders bundled up though, I have a small amount of wiggle room, especially as it's for a cause close to my heart :thumb2

(LEDs on a c90 are WELL within it's generator capacity as well :D)

Sixteen quid shipping for a fuse holder and 2 switches....don't think so.

Not sure what that's about, but PM me and I hope can sort it......

Durite, our wholesale suppliers for auto electrical stuff, are used to sending stuff out by the pallet load to re-sellers, rather than by small individual orders, so their £6 carriage charge gets absorbed.

I'm very happy to pick up small items personally and post by royal mail or whatever......just let me know :thumb2

Hey mister, what about some small decent quality stop/tail or rear fogs. Perhaps something that could fit on the inside of pannier frames or rear musguards?

Lemme come back to you tomorrow on that one Timothy, if you don't mind :beerjug:

Friday night now and I've successfully limited my alcohol consumption to weekends :augie

In the back light on my K, I have several small but very bright red LED repeater units (same as fitted to be repeater lights down the side of HGV's) but they fit inside the lamp unit tail piece.....

We also have strobing LED type lights that are fitted to emergency vehicles, all in one lights that have side and brake light setups and so on......

I'll dig out the info and post, but I want to do it sober :kissy2

Cheers, I have the twin TT set up.
Plus an led tail/stop strip under the number plate on the splash guard but have realised a following vehiccle has to be directly in line with the narrow beam off the led for them to be useful.

Perhaps I'd do better with decent led stop/tail bulbs in the TT unit?

Anyway, go and get pissed as I'm on the Jim Beam and coke (nice one Aidan:thumb) so won't be able to read anything else in a while.

Thanks for that Bill. :thumb2

I'll speak to Dennis when he returns from Bansang and see if the other lads going are interested too. Give me a little time and I'll get back to you. I'll be definately having a set though.

Tim....not in shed today, but I have an idea that I have something that might suit......will dig a couple out and take pics (probably tomorrow but it depeds on weather- we have an inch of sheet ice on the approach lanes to the farm so I'm working at home today)

Re: The BigMofoHID Spots (0-537-10, one unit)

Hi Fanum,

Do the BigMofoHID spots work fine on a 2006 "Canbus" GSA?
Would I need to install a separate fuse-box?
Cheers!

Yes, it would.
It comes with a fused wiring harness, so no, you wouldn't need to add a separate fuse box....it just connects to the battery and an earth. (so you're not actually going anywhere near the canbus circuit)

The connections are all there on the supplied wiring harness, with a pre-wired relay......the only thing you have to add is a switch :thumb

(they don't come with a switch as everyone wants a different type or design.....there are dozens if not hundreds of suitable switches available though :) )

Tim......a couple of options here.....

This round LED is a brake and tail light

DOUBLE BRIGHT FOR BRAKE LIGHT

Obviously this doesn't show the brightness very well, but these are actually additional truck lights, operate from 9v to well over 24 and they are waterproof

We've also got truck marker lights on the back of the outfit like this:

(the plastic film is still on this pair, but they are nice little units, very bright and IP67 waterproof)

The factory tried to help, by partially assembling the steel brackets onto the light bodies

Unfortunately, the steel brackets then sat in the packets resting against the case of the lights (0-420-55) and scuffed and/or chipped the glass or coating of them :blast

So, This is just to say that at the moment, we are out of the 0-420-55 round 5w lamps....new pallet should be coming on the 9th May

That's these ones:

We found one other lamp of a different type packed the same way, but if ordering LEDs in the next week or three, it's probably best to give us a call on 01206 255094 or the shed mobile 07765 071063 and we'll double check before we go through the despatch process :thumb

I have been using a pair of these wee lights on my bike for five or six years Bill without a problem at all. :thumb2
