I put some of these in my '09 RT, they annoyed everyone and I took them out again. Unfortunately there is too much light coming directly out of the front and there is no baffle to prevent this, which means that overhead gantries are perfectly lit. They provide a nice even light, which is great, so long as you don't have to co-exist with other road users.

The problem with these (and all LED replacements) is that the original tungsten sources are much smaller, basically a 4mm long filament, and the reflectors are designed around this. an LED source like these is a lot larger, and the light comes from a position relatively far away from the design position, which means the reflector is wrong for the lamp.

So far no adverse reaction from other road users. In for an mot recently and the tester commented that these were the best lights he had seen on a motorcycle. He went on to say that the light pattern was very good. The riders in front of me have commented that they are not dazzled. Hth.

Isn't the light pattern dictated by the reflector rather than the bulb ? Are they just brighter or does the beam seem different ?

Hi, yes a lot brighter. I agree with you that the spread is much wider than the stock lamps.
I can only comment that I have not received any adverse reaction from other road users. Yet...

Unfortunately they didn't fit. this set had a fixed collar and the power feed was at the 6 o'clock and fouled the thread where the dust cap fits.

Looks like the car is having an LED upgrade instead..

only problem I've got like hid conversions is do you have to carve up the rear dust covers so they fit which will let in condensation and water eventually to the reflector?

No modifications to the dust cover was required. The 1st set of led's were a good fit.

This 1st set had a collar. The retaining spring holds the collar in place and then the lamp fits through the collar, quarter turn holds it in place.

Hth.

cheers might get me self a pair but upgraded output hehe
Happy to help.
Just be careful when choosing your led's. I can only vouch for the 1st set I purchased. They will fit the low beam sockets. The 2nd set I tried would not fit the high beam.
